Who is the best boss you had and why?

Simon Lissa, he was an entrepreneur that happened to be the head of client services at E-Web Marketing. He built and grew a number of side businesses. His mindset of working on multiple projects outside of work was one that inspired me to create my first company. He taught me that I didn’t have all the answers, and that was ok. He always made me question my way of doing things. Seek out the best and constantly learn and grow.

What are your top 3 tips for being a better leader?

1. Don’t ask for permission - do what you think is right.
2. Work with and surround yourself with smart and motivated people, you’ll learn a lot yourself. 
3. Trust your gut, chances are you’re right. If you don’t, it can be very very costly.

What conventional corporate wisdom no longer applies in today’s workplace?

Change is good, embrace it and take risks.

Workplaces are changing, I predict...

The workforce is ageing, everyone know this. On the flip side, people are concerned with robotics, AI and machine learning. As the population grows older, there will be many jobs that people don’t want to do. The swing between less workers and the development of machine learning will form an equilibrium. Again, change is good, keep up with it. We’ve already seen the creation of AI to assist legal and accounting practices. Those who embrace these changes will prosper, those who don’t...
